About TNEA 2024 Engineering Entrance Exam

TNEA 2024 – In the state of Tamil Nadu for Under Graduate Engineering Admissions, Anna University conducts Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA). There is no admission test for Under Graduate engineering admission in the state, thus admission is granted only via TNEA. Anna University is in charge of this counselling. Thus, eligible candidates who wish to take admission in UG courses in the state of Tamil Nadu have in the academic session 2024-20, must apply for TNEA 2024. For PG admission in engineering, a common entrance examination – TANCET 2024 is conducted by Anna University. But for UG admission candidates don’t have to go through any such entrance test. TNEA 2024 will be their only gateway for admission in engineering undergraduate courses after class 12th. TNEA Eligibility Criteria 2024

• The candidate needs to have passed 10+2 with minimum 60% marks in PCM. The candidate also needs to have studied English as one of the subjects, with at least 50% marks in the subject at class 10 or 10+2.
• Natives of Tamil Nadu who have passed any of class VIII, IX, X, XI and XII exams from schools situated outside the state of Tamil Nadu are also eligible, but have to submit Nativity Certificate.
• Children of All India service Tamil Nadu cadre officers can also apply.
• There is no age limit that has been specified, except for admission to marine engineering. Candidates applying to marine engineering must not be older than 25 years as on the last day of application submission.

TNEA Exam Pattern 2024

The Anna University and the exam council has notified of the TNEA 2024 exam pattern so that candidates can become familiar to the actual exam scenario. The exam pattern is given in the table below.

TNEA Exam Syllabus 2024

Syllabus of TNEA 2024 will be the same as 10+2 syllabus which covers the topics as follows-

• Mathematics– Geometry. Trigonometry. Integral calculus & differentiation. Probability. Statistics. Algebra & permutation-combination.
• Chemistry– Kinetics. Molecular & atomic structure. Environmental chemistry. Surface & organic chemistry. Chemistry in everyday life.
• Physics– Gravitation. Thermodynamics. Magnetism. Thermodynamics. Electricity. Alternating currents. Heat and mass transfer. Motion-oscillation. Solids & fluid. Optics & kinematics. Refraction and reflection.

TNEA Application Form 2024

Anna University will release the application form of TNEA 2024 separately for home quota seats and other state quota seats. TNEA 2024 Application form for home quota seats will open tentatively in the 1st week of May 2024. Eligible candidates will have to fill the application form online, using correct and verifiable date and submit it before the last; applications received after last date won’t be considered.

How to fill the TNEA 2024 application form

• Registration –The candidate will have to register using valid email id and mobile number. The candidate in this step will also have to enter details pertaining nativity, religion, and communication, etc.
• Payment of application fee – The application fee is Rs. 500 for open, and Rs. 250 for SC, ST and SCA candidates from Tamil Nadu. The fee can be paid either online or offline (demand draft).
• Filling of personal details – In this step information related to category, nationality, and also scholarships, etc. have to be entered.
• Filling of academic information – The candidate has to enter class 10 and 10+2 marks, qualifying exam, board, etc.
• Submit the application form – The candidate has to finally check the application is complete in all respects before submitting it.

• 10th Mark Sheet
• HSC / Equivalent Mark sheet
• Transfer Certificate
• Income certificate
• Nativity Certificate (only in electronic form / digitally signed e-Certificate) – If applicable
• First Graduate Certificate (only in electronic form / digitally signed e-Certificate) and First Graduate Joint Declaration
• Relevant certificates for Son / Daughter of Ex-servicemen with Parent’s discharge certificate
  and ID card

TNEA Admit Card 2024

• Students can download admit cards after getting the roll no from the official website after the 2nd week of June 2024.
• Visit the website, open the “Admit card” link and fill the details. Enter after that. The admit card comes. Take a print of the same for future.
• Admit card have the student’s identity proofs. Name, Contact details, Photograph, Venue of the examination, Roll number, Exam date, timings and duration.
• Every student should have the admit card while entering the exam hall. If any one does not have the admit card, they will not be allowed to give the exam.
• Students can download the admit card with the help of the login credentials which are assigned by the University to every student.
• The exam council will begin the distribution of admit card from June 2024. Students can also download the admit card from the link mentioned in the website.
• Admit card is a necessity in the exam hall. Without the presence of admit card students will not be allowed to appear for the exam.
• Admit card acts as an identity proof of the students.

TNEA Cutoff 2024

• The examination conducting body that is Anna University releases TNEA cutoff for each of the subsequent round of allotment rounds.
• The candidates who are going to take up TNEA exam in 2024 can check branch-wise and category-wise TNEA 2024 Cutoff on the official website as well as on our separate page for TNEA Cutoff 2024.
• Last year, there were total 5 round of seat allotment round so the candidates can expect the same for 2024 admission process.
• TNEA 2024 Cutoff will contain the opening and closing rank for admission at TNEA participating institutions.
• Sanctioned seats, number of applications received, and also category of the candidate are the factors which are taken into account while preparing TNEA 2024 cutoff.
• To be considered eligible for admission, the candidates will be required to rank more than closing rank as prescribed by the conducting body.

TNEA Exam Result 2024

The results will be available on the website after announced in the last week of June 2024.

• Log-in the website, click on ‘’Result TNEA 2024-20” link
• Enter roll number & enter
• The Result page will open.
• Print the copy.
• The merit list will be declared after the announcement of the results.
• The merit list will decide the shortlisted candidates.
• Only the shortlisted candidates will be eligible and called for the counseling and personal interview session.
  The marksheet of the students should contain their name along with the grades.
• Students can check their results with the help of the login credentials which are provided to every student.
• Those login and account information through which students have downloaded their admit card, they can view their results with the same login information.
