Swami Ramanand Teerth Rural Medical College Ambajogai is the First Rural Medical College in Asia. Dr. V.K. Dawale, FRCS was the founder Dean of this Medical College. His dream, dedication and efforts of starting a medical college in this rural area finally came true. The first batch of 50 students was admitted in the month of July 1975 and passed out in 1979.

Eligibility Criteria for MBBS in Swami Ramanand Teerth Rural Medical College Ambajogai.
- Admission to the program is given through NEET-UG.
- Candidate to score a minimum of 50% aggregate in NEET to become eligible for admission to MBBS programs.
- Interested students must have passed class 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination may also apply.
As per the Indian Medical Council Act – 1956, as amended in 2016 & Dentist Act – 1984 as amended in 2016, online applications are invited for NEET UG – 2019.
The exam will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for admission MBBS/BDS Courses in India approved by Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
AIMS & JIPMER Pondicherry are only two exceptions from NEET UG, as they are established through the Act of Parliament of India.
Admission to all seats of MBBS/BDS courses will be done through National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) 2019.
